Class Descriptions


Ballet: a classical dance form characterized by grace, precision of movement and formal gestures, steps, and poses. Ballet develops discipline, confidence, poise and grace in our students. It is crucial to the development of correct technique and alignment in the dancer.

Choreography: A class geared towards the dancer wishing to take their training to the next level. This class focuses on student choreography and learned all of the elements that go in to music selection and editing, staging, and working with different sized groups. Classes conclude with a student choreography showcase.


‚ÄčCompetition/Audition Prep: This class is for students in grades 7th, 8th, and 9th grade. This class incorporates ballet and jazz techniques into a fusion style class. This is a great option for students preparing to audition for competition team or middle/high school spirit squad and dance teams. 

Core Technique: This class complements all level 1 -4 classes by teaching age appropriate vocabulary, strength building, flexibility, and core elements of the world of dance. All elements learned within this class are incorporated into a students associated Hip Hop, Ballet, Tap, jazz, and Combo classes. 

Dancing in Diapers: A fun 30-minute class for walkers-3 year old children still in diapers. This class is the perfect introduction to movement and dance for your toddler. Basic dance terms are taught utilizing creative movement and fun activities.

Hip Hop: takes dance off the street and into the studio. Moves are strong, smooth and have plenty of attitude.

Jazz: a smooth, modern style commonly used in Broadway shows and movies. Movements are often big and energetic.

Kinder dance: an energetic, lively 30-minute class for 5 and 6-year-old kindergarten students. Basic ballet technique and tap technique skills are reinforced and further developed. Each class ends with creative movement exercises to reinforce memory and application of skills learned.

Pointe: an advanced level of ballet for dancers ages 12+. Students are assessed by their ballet instructor as to readiness. All students must be enrolled in a ballet technique class to participate.

Preschool Ballet/Tap Combo: a fun, light-hearted 30-minute class for 2 and 4-year-old students to introduce them to the world of dance. Basic ballet and tap skills are developed. Each class ends with creative movement exercises to reinforce memory and application of skills learned. Our Preschool Program is a 3 level program and elements learned within one level carry in to the next. 

Preschool Ballet/Tumble Combo: a fun, high-energy 30-minute class for 2 and 4-year-old students to introduce them to the world of dance and movement. Basic ballet and tumbling skills are developed. Our Preschool Program is a 3 level program and elements learned within one level carry in to the next. 

Tap: a lively, rhythmic dance that makes the performer not just a dancer, but also a percussive musician.

Technical Classes: These classes are designed to develop and build the technique of our competitive level dancers. Students are placed within their technique classes based on age, ability, and experience. 

Turns, Jumps, & Progressions (TJP): A technical class for dancers to improve and strengthen their technique in turns, jumps, and progressions. Placement based.
